This is a Mediterranean fast food joint with note bills hanging on every wall in the ground floor from several places in the world. Don't be fooled by the ground floor which may seem a bit tiny, since there is second floor with seating and restrooms. So if your tired of wandering along Georgetown and spent all your money on shopping, craving for hummus shawarma, this is a decent place to get that. There is street parking, that may be hassle find, but you will eventually. Food over the counter and ok staff. Agree that the prices for the food is higher than other places for the amount of food you are receiving, other ways a place to go to for your shawarma in Georgetown.

Delicious chicken shawarma that I crave every so often because the flavor is unique and stands out. The Chicken Shawarma wrap is a very good portion size. It comes with fantastic crispy fries and excellent garlic whip. I am put into a food coma after finishing this whole meal. This is the type of meal where you need to lay down after. The nutella crepe is decent. It tastes exactly what you think it tastes like, nothing special but I like that they cut the pieces into squares for you so it's easier to eat. Seating could be better and space is limited in the small establishment because it is located in DC so that's understandable.

I have dreams about their gyro wraps. Absolutely delicious. I tried going somewhere closer for gyro yesterday because I didn't want to walk to Georgetown: BIG MISTAKE. It did not live up to George's. The servers did a good job, there was a long line out the door so they weren't focused on pleasantries. Just took our order and made the food as fast as they could. Respect There is a cozy upstairs seating area with old wooden chairs and tables, see if you can snag a seat up there if it's not too busy!

Some of the best Mediterranean food I've had hands down. It's fast casual but the food is so fresh. It seems like mostly a take out operation but there's some space to sit upstairs if you want to eat there. I was having a hard time deciding between the falafel platter or hummus with falafel and the cashier recommended the falafel platter and gave me two free sides of hummus so I could try it which was so nice! The falafel was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The hummus was also SO GOOD everything had amazing flavor. It also came with pita, pickled veggies, lettuce, and cucumber which were so crisp. 10/10 recommend this place!!!

Omg this spot has been around for 40 years and I'm just learning about it. They are also open to 2 AM every single day! The food is fresh service is great that even have a speaker to let you know that your food is done if you are standing outside. In the inside, there are a dollar bills all over the walls. It's actually kind of cool. They also have an upstairs. The steak and cheese is a must!! It was fire! The lamb was decent and pretty good as well however, I will either go back for the chick or for sure the cheesesteak - and make sure you get the white garlic sauce for anything that you order it's a must and quite delicious

As an Arab, I've tried quite a good number of Middle Eastern Restaurants. George's is one of my long-time favorites that I repeatedly visit when I'm in DC. George's is almost always busy due to its popularity, so anyone visiting shouldn't expect super engaged customer service. You order at a register, wait for your order number to be called, and grab your food from the pickup counter. The menu is similar to most other casual Middle Eastern spots. I always order either a chicken or beef shawarma sandwich. The sandwich components are the same as shawarma spots elsewhere, but the quality and flavor of the sandwich components are what make it stand out. The meat is always very well-seasoned and cooked to perfection leaving it juicy and tender. I'm also a major fan of the garlic whip that comes with the Chicken Shawarma. It's fresh and tangy and also makes a great dip for French fries. Seating at George's is definitely limited if you plan to dine in. All of the seating is on the second floor, and all the tables will easily be occupied on a busy day. I'd advise a backup plan for anyone planning to dine in during peak hours. George's really stands out compared to many other shawarma sandwiches I've had elsewhere. The DMV area can be overwhelming with the number of great food options, but George's is one I wouldn't miss.

I throughly enjoyed this!! It was a good amount. They add pickles and I think fries in the wrap along with the garlic sauce inside as well. I didn't know that otherwise I would've got just the wrap lol. I also got a Nutella crepe which was delicious. Quick service, looked very clean inside. Great food to have a quick bite to eat for lunch! I'd come again for sure!!
